You don't need a referral to make an appointment.
However, to get a Medicare rebate we suggest you speak to your GP to get a Mental Health Treatment Plan. A Mental Health Treatment Plan will entitle you to Medicare rebates for up to 20 sessions per year.
Your GP will initially give you a Treatment Plan for 6 sessions, after which you can see them to extend the plan.

For the first appointment, please bring:
The referral letter from your GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist
The mental health treatment plan (if you have one) and Medicare card
It's normal to feel nervous before your first appointment. Our job is to help you feel comfortable and ask you questions to understand your goals. We will have a conversation with you to understand your story and your goals and challenges. At the end of the first session, you will receive some strategies to get you started towards your personalised goals.
Each appointment lasts for 50 minutes
